Welding Recertification

Tuition is CAD 350 per year (domestic).

This programme prepares welders to maintain or obtain certification for industrial and construction roles in Alberta. It focuses on recertification for ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association) and CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) qualifications, including structural and 'B' Pressure Welding. Graduates remain eligible for jobs in fabrication, maintenance, and pressure vessel work.

The programme is a single-day in-person test with results provided the same day. It is delivered by a certified local examiner at Keyano College's Suncor Energy Industrial Campus. Students must bring safety gear including CSA-approved steel-toe boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, and a reflective vest. The test covers all required welding positions for certification.

To register, you must hold a valid Alberta Grade 'B' Pressure Welder's Certificate of Competency. Initial testing for the 'B' Pressure qualification requires contacting ABSA directly. The programme supports ongoing employment in Alberta's trades sector by helping welders stay compliant with industry standards.
