Humber’s Wellness Coaching graduate certificate program prepares you to work in the field of health and wellness coaching. The program's online delivery is uniquely designed with the working student in mind. Throughout the program you will gain knowledge and skills for promoting health and wellness and preventing or managing disease. You will also learn to establish effective coaching relationships; support sustainable behaviour change through practices such as motivational interviewing and mindfulness; manage health and wellness programs; and improve quality of life for people with chronic conditions. You will empower individuals and groups to self-advocate, as they set and achieve healthy behaviour change goals. You will engage with clients in experiential learning opportunities within Humber’s innovative Centre for Healthy Living and also in field placements within a variety of organizational settings. The Wellness Coaching programs offers several exciting certifications and opportunities for students. As part of the program you will receive Mental Health First Aid Certification. You will also receive the WellCoaches Core Training program as part of your coursework. Upon completing that training you will be eligible to pursue further certifications from WellCoaches, The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching, and the International Coaching Federation. Furthermore, our program has been approved by the Canadian Health Coach Alliance which will allow you to use the “Registered Health Coach” title with proof of graduation. Program Delivery: Courses are scheduled over two 14-week semesters and offer a blend of self-directed online modules and synchronous remote classes that take place in the evenings. Placement occurs in Semester 2 and offers both in-person and virtual options. This program is not available to international applicants.
