Animal Care

The Animal Care program at Berkshire College of Agriculture is a one-year, non-degree course for students who want to work in the animal industry. It helps students gain practical skills in animal husbandry and prepares them for further education or entry-level roles.

Students learn about animal health, biology, and welfare through hands-on experience with small mammals and farm livestock. They also participate in an industry placement, which gives them real-world experience and enhances their employability.

Graduates can work as Animal Care Assistants, Kennel Workers, or Veterinary Nursing Assistants in pet stores, kennels, and veterinary practices. They can also explore other roles in the animal care sector, using the skills they acquired during the program.
