Master in Architectural Practice Postgraduate Diploma

At De Montfort University, tuition costs 2,450 GBP per year.

De Montfort University (DMU) leverages its heritage as one of the UK’s longest-standing providers of architectural education to deliver this essential qualification for aspiring architects. This postgraduate diploma is specifically engineered to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional reality, fulfilling the requirements for ARB/RIBA Part III examination eligibility.

The curriculum focuses on the business, legal, and ethical dimensions of the profession, ensuring graduates are prepared to navigate the complexities of practice management, building contracts, and regulatory frameworks. Rather than a traditional classroom-based degree, this programme integrates directly with your ongoing professional experience, utilizing a block-teaching model that respects the demands of your existing employment.

Professional Integration

The programme is designed for individuals currently embedded within architectural practice, fostering an environment where real-world work informs academic study. Through a combination of rigorous case studies, professional examinations, and critical appraisals of practical experience (PEDR), participants develop the commercial acumen and ethical grounding necessary to attain chartered status and register with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
