Bachelor in Architecture

Tuition fees are 18,400 USD per year.

Architecture as a field of study concerns the design of buildings, structures, and the spaces they create, integrating creative design thinking with technical understanding of construction, materials, and structural behavior. Coursework is typically anchored by design studio classes, where students work through building design problems of increasing complexity, complemented by courses in architectural history, building technology, structural systems, and digital design tools such as drafting and modeling software. Studio critique sessions, in which student work is presented and discussed, are a standard part of architectural training. The discipline requires students to reconcile aesthetic and spatial ambitions with practical requirements like structural soundness, building regulations, and site conditions. Graduates typically move into architectural practice, design and construction firms, urban design roles, or further study required for professional licensure in many jurisdictions. This bachelor's program is offered by İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, delivered entirely in English over 4 years. The English-medium instruction gives students direct access to international architectural scholarship, publications, and precedent studies used widely in design education. Across the four-year program, students are expected to advance from basic design exercises to complex, independent architectural projects, mirroring the typical progression of architecture curricula elsewhere. The combination of studio-based design work with supporting technical and historical courses is characteristic of how the discipline is taught. Located in Ankara, Turkey's capital, the university setting offers a broad urban and architectural context for study throughout the program.
