In the first year you consolidate the knowledge gained in Part 1 with core modules such as Critical and Cultural Context, Innovation and Realisation and Design 1 & 2. The second year focuses on advanced design research, a written thesis and professional practice, leading to exemption from the RIBA Part 2 examination.
