Architecture combines design theory, technical knowledge, and studio practice to prepare students to plan and design buildings and the spaces around them. Coursework covers architectural design studios, building construction and materials, structural systems, architectural history and theory, and computer-aided design. Students develop projects that balance aesthetic, functional, and technical considerations, learning to communicate design ideas through drawings, models, and digital representation. The program emphasizes iterative design thinking and critique-based learning within studio settings. Graduates pursue careers in architectural practice, urban design, construction management, and further graduate study, working toward professional licensure in the field. The program is offered in English at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, over a duration of 4 years.
