One-Year Study in Agriculture

About the Programme

The University of Inland Norway offers an Årsstudium i jordbruk. This is a one-year campus study. It provides an introduction to sustainable agriculture. The programme is full-time and awards 60 ECTS credits.

What You Will Study

The programme covers Norwegian agriculture. Core subjects include natural foundations, introduction to agriculture, and agricultural machinery. Students also study plants and production, and land use. Learning methods include lectures, field teaching, excursions, and problem-solving. The study takes place at the Blæstad campus, located near Hamar.

Entry and Application

The programme requires general university admission. Applicants can also apply based on prior learning and experience. The main application deadline is April 15. For applications based on prior learning, the deadline is March 1. The programme starts in August. The cost is a semester fee.

Further Study Options

This one-year study can be the first year of a Bachelor's degree. Students can continue to a Bachelor in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering at the Blæstad campus. It can also supplement other education for work in the agricultural sector. There is no opportunity for exchange during this one-year study.
