Bachelor in Art Design Foundation

At De Montfort University, the application deadline for the Sep 2027 intake is Aug 31, 2027, while tuition is 16,750 GBP per year.

This programme centres on the intensive development of a professional-grade portfolio, serving as a vital bridge for students preparing to progress into specialist undergraduate study in the creative arts. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, the curriculum demands that you demonstrate your creative potential through a broad range of media—from traditional drawing and sculptural work to photography, moving image, and CAD.

You will be expected to show an inquisitive mind, documenting your research, experimentation, and design journey through rigorous sketchbook work. The programme places a premium on originality; you are expected to articulate your own visual language rather than relying on secondary source material or AI-generated concepts. By the end of the course, you will have curated a high-quality collection of 15–20 pages that clearly communicates your personal style, technical versatility, and the critical thought processes underpinning your final outcomes.
