About Master in Arts in International Relations

The Master of Arts in International Relations at Vistula University in Warsaw, Poland, is an interdisciplinary programme, taught in English over two years across four semesters, that examines the dynamics of relations among countries, governments and political institutions, analyzing their political, economic and cultural interactions. Within the International Economic Relations specialization, students take courses in political science, economics, history and foreign languages, learning to approach, analyze and manage settings involving political and diplomatic dimensions, while building intercultural communication and negotiation skills. The department's curriculum includes courses in international security, international political economy, political and economic development, foreign policies, diplomacy, and conflicts and conflict management. The university cooperates with the Ambassador's Club and with internationally experienced diplomats and businesspeople, who bring a practical dimension to the programme. Study is structured around close integration of business and higher education, achieved by restructuring course content to answer future market needs, engaging market experts and specialists in preparing course materials, dedicating internship and training programmes, and organizing joint market research, study tours, summer schools, seminars, symposia and workshops. As with comparable master's programmes in international relations, the field builds on undergraduate study in political science, economics, law or a related discipline, and graduates typically pursue careers in diplomacy, international business, consulting, or continue toward doctoral research.
