About Bachelor in BA (Hons) Event Management with Foundation Year

The course that every student must complete is the Foundation Year, which introduces them to academic writing, research, and the principles of business, finance, and management pertinent to the creative industries. Students must take part in the Prepare for Foundation (PFF) or Prepare for Degree (PFD) admissions assessment, which assesses their academic ability, engagement, conduct, and other components related to the course.

Other core modules for the Foundation Year are Creative Challenge: Identity, Environment, Community and Creative Challenge: Systems, Story and Change. Students who complete the Foundation Year progress to Level 4, which builds core skills in event management, including idea generation, event design, planning, feasibility, responsibility, and evaluation.

Throughout the course, students work on live projects with different audiences and real clients, gaining practical experience and confidence in applying their learning.

At Level 5, students take on more complex live event projects, working to real briefs set by external clients. Developing strong communication, teamwork, and people-management skills is central to success at this stage.

By the end of the final year, students graduate with strong examples of their work, clear stories to share with employers, and the confidence to progress into the events industry or further postgraduate study.
