Bachelor in Computer science

Tuition fees are 2,100 EUR per year.

Computer Science is a bachelor's program taught in English at Universita Ca' Foscari Venezia in Venezia, Italy, running three years. The discipline covers the theoretical foundations and practical skills needed to design, build, and analyze computing systems and software. Students typically study programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer architecture, along with subjects such as databases, operating systems, and computer networks. As the program progresses, students often encounter more specialized areas, including software engineering, artificial intelligence, and web or mobile application development, depending on how the curriculum is structured. Mathematical foundations, including discrete mathematics and logic, are also typically part of the training, since they underpin much of computer science theory and algorithm design. Laboratory and project work is common in computer science programs, giving students hands-on experience building software and working with real systems rather than relying solely on theoretical study. Some programs also introduce students to topics such as cybersecurity, data science, or human-computer interaction as elective areas of focus. Because computing skills are widely applicable, graduates of computer science programs go on to work in software development, systems administration, data analysis, and technology consultancy, across sectors ranging from finance to healthcare to media, and many pursue further study at the master's level in computer science or a related specialization. Venezia, though known historically for trade and the arts, is also home to a university offering technical programs such as this one. Delivered in English, the program is intended for international students seeking a foundational computer science education.
