Countryside Worker

The Countryside Worker program at Bedford College is a 15-month non-degree apprenticeship for individuals interested in environmental and conservation tasks, requiring weekly attendance.

Students will gain skills in health and safety, communication, and machinery operation, and learn to identify flora and fauna, manage habitats, and construct or maintain site furniture.

Graduates can pursue roles as countryside wardens or rangers, working with local councils, conservation organizations, or private estates, with transferable skills applicable to environmental management and agriculture.
