Diş Hekimliği

This dentistry program prepares students for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions affecting the teeth, gums, and oral cavity. Coursework typically covers dental anatomy, oral biology, biochemistry, and physiology in the early years, moving into restorative dentistry, periodontology, oral surgery, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry as students progress. Practical and clinical training forms a core part of the program, with students learning to perform examinations, use dental instruments, and manage patient care under faculty supervision before treating patients directly in later years. Graduates typically become licensed dentists working in private practice, dental clinics, or hospital dental departments, and some pursue further specialization in areas such as orthodontics, oral surgery, or endodontics, or move into dental research and academia. The profession calls for precision, manual skill, and a solid grounding in biological science, since dentists are responsible for both routine oral health care and more complex surgical procedures. This program is offered at Lokman Hekim University in Ankara, Turkey, and is taught in English, giving students an internationally accessible route into dental education supported by clinical training within the local healthcare setting. It runs for 5 years at the bachelor level, combining theoretical study with progressively hands-on clinical practice. Graduates are prepared to pursue licensure as dentists and, if they choose, to continue into postgraduate specialization in a particular area of dental medicine.
