The Medical University of Lodz offers a five-year Dentistry program (5DMD) consisting of ten semesters, structured as a long-cycle master's degree taught in English. Classes begin on October 1, 2026, with an application deadline of September 7, 2026. The program follows requirements set for Polish medical higher education institutions and is aligned with EU standards; in India, it is comparable to the five-year BDS, or Bachelor of Dental Surgery, program. Intake happens once a year in the fall, and the academic year runs from October to June. Graduates receive the degree of Lekarz-Dentysta, or Doctor of Dental Medicine, and can apply for a license to practice as a dentist. The degree also opens paths into public and private medical facilities and into research and development centers. The Medical University of Łódź is the largest medical university in Poland, and it combines a long institutional history in medical education with more recent teaching methods. The dental curriculum is designed to build practical skills alongside the knowledge needed for dental practice, supported by an experienced teaching staff and a broad education intended to complement students' development as dentists.
