The five-year Dentistry program at Wrocław Medical University is taught in English and follows the common European framework for dental education, in line with European admission standards. Yearly tuition is set at PLN 52,500. The program is split into two parts. Part I covers two preclinical years devoted to subjects including the basics of medical chemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, human anatomy, preclinical prosthodontics, the history of medicine, Latin, and medical first aid and resuscitation. Preclinical dental coursework in this stage includes the anatomy of teeth, the physiology of masticatory systems, ergonomics in dentistry, dental materials, social dentistry, preclinical restorative dentistry, and preclinical endodontics. Foreign students are also required to take Polish language classes during these first two years, so that they can communicate with patients once clinical training begins in the third year. Part II covers the clinical years, opening in year three with pathomorphology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, microbiology, and immunology. By the end of the fifth year, students have covered the full spectrum of clinical medical sciences, including internal diseases, general surgery, pediatrics, the physiology of pregnancy, neurology, infectious diseases, dermatology and venereology, ophthalmology, radiology, otolaryngology, forensic medicine, clinical pharmacology, gerodentistry, and general oncology. Clinical dental coursework includes restorative dentistry and prosthodontics, among other specialty areas. Graduates of this program are prepared to pursue dental licensure and to enter general or specialized dental practice, drawing on both the theoretical and hands-on components built into the five-year structure.
