Dentistry is a master's degree program at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, taught in English in Szczecin, Poland, over 5 years (10 semesters). Pomeranian Medical University is a public, state-owned institution offering a full-time, intramural system of study, and this long-cycle master's degree program leads to a diploma of higher education. The university has offered studies in English since 1996 at the Faculty of Medicine and since 2006 at the Faculty of Dentistry, and at present has over 600 students enrolled in English-language programs across both faculties, with over 250 students having already successfully graduated. Each year, the university offers 100 seats at the Faculty of Medicine and 30 seats at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Students have access to the university's main library, which provides free access to major internet research databases, supporting the clinical and scientific training expected of a dentistry degree. Dentistry as a discipline combines biomedical science with clinical training in oral health, requiring students to master anatomy, physiology, and pathology alongside the practical skills needed for diagnosis and treatment of dental and craniofacial conditions. A 5 year program of this length and structure, delivered over 10 semesters, reflects the extended clinical training required for a professional dentistry qualification, combining preclinical coursework with supervised clinical practice before graduates are prepared to enter dental practice.
