Digital Game Design covers the creative and technical processes behind building interactive games, including narrative design, level design, game mechanics, and user experience. Coursework typically spans game programming, 2D and 3D art production, animation, sound design, and project management for game development teams. Students learn to prototype gameplay ideas, use industry-standard game engines, and work collaboratively on projects that combine artistic vision with technical execution. The field sits at the intersection of art, computer science, and storytelling, and graduates pursue careers as game designers, level designers, technical artists, or producers within the game development and interactive entertainment industry. This bachelor's program in Digital Game Design is offered at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, Turkey, with instruction delivered in English over 4 years. The curriculum blends studio-based project work with technical coursework, giving students practical experience building playable prototypes and complete game projects. Istanbul's growing digital media and entertainment sector offers students opportunities to connect with studios and industry professionals during their studies. Students also develop skills in teamwork, iterative design, and playtesting, which are central to professional game development workflows. By graduation, students have a portfolio of game projects and the technical and creative skills needed to enter the game design and development industry.
