Marmara University

Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Electrical and Electronics Engineering covers the design, analysis, and application of systems and devices that rely on electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The discipline spans a wide range of scales, from microelectronic circuits to large power distribution networks, and typical coursework reflects that breadth. Students usually study circuit analysis, digital and analog electronics, electromagnetic fields, and signal processing, building a foundation that applies across telecommunications, computing, and energy systems. Power systems engineering is often a core component as well, covering how electricity is generated, transmitted, and distributed, along with the control systems that keep power networks stable and efficient. Laboratory work is central to the field, with students building and testing circuits, programming microcontrollers, and working with instrumentation to measure and analyze electrical signals. As programs progress, students frequently encounter more specialized topics such as telecommunications, renewable energy systems, robotics, or control theory, reflecting the diverse career paths available within the field. Design projects, often completed individually or in small teams, require students to apply theoretical knowledge to build functioning electronic or electrical systems, giving them practical experience that mirrors industry practice. Mathematics and physics remain foundational throughout the curriculum, since much of the discipline relies on modeling and predicting the behavior of electrical systems before they are built. Graduates typically pursue careers in electronics design, power engineering, telecommunications, automation and control systems, or renewable energy, and some continue into graduate research in specialized areas of electrical engineering. This program is taught in English over 4 years at Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey.
