Master in Electrical engineering

Wrocław University of Science and Technology, known as WUST, offers a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Control in Electrical Power Engineering, taught in English over four semesters, with yearly tuition of 4000.0 EUR. Students can complete the full four semesters at WUST, or take up a Double-Degree option run jointly with Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, available only to Polish and Canadian citizens for the exchange portion, as well as with Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany, the University of Palermo in Italy, and RWTH Aachen University in Germany. The program aims to improve the quality of graduate-level education and training in control engineering, focusing on power system automation and control. It is organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering across four semesters, including a Master's Thesis semester and a four-week industrial placement. Students pursuing the Toronto Double-Degree option spend their first year at Ryerson University and their second year at WUST, while those choosing the Cottbus or Palermo route spend their first year there before completing their second year at WUST. Coursework at WUST includes Numerical and Optimisation Methods, Power Quality Assessment, Power Systems Faults, Fault Calculations, Dynamics and Control of AC and DC Drives, Circuits and Systems, Advanced Technology in Electrical Power Generation, and foreign language courses. Electrical engineering with a control and power systems focus prepares graduates for roles in power utilities, grid operators, industrial automation, and energy consulting, where understanding both electrical systems and their control mechanisms is central to the work.
