The Bachelor's programme in Energy Systems and Renewable Energies at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is a seven-semester, English-language course addressing the engineering challenges of sustainable energy generation, distribution, and use. The curriculum covers science fundamentals — mathematics, thermodynamics, mechanics, fluid mechanics, electrical engineering, and computer science — alongside mechanical engineering foundations and specialised content in renewable energy with strong practical orientation. Specialised subject areas include energy generation from solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal sources; energy systems covering smart cities, industrial supply, smart buildings, energy markets, and sector coupling; special components such as combined heat and power plants, heat pumps, batteries, and fuel cells; and new energy carriers such as e-mobility, biomethane, hydrogen, power to gas, and power to heat. Specialised simulation software is used across the programme. The fifth semester is an industry internship. The sixth and seventh semesters deepen knowledge and include elective courses, a team project, and the Bachelor's thesis. Students also develop the capacity to carry out economic assessments of energy supply concepts. The programme is offered at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt in Ingolstadt, Germany.
