About the Program

Environmental Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, in Poland, is a bachelor's programme taught in English over 7 semesters, with yearly tuition of 3,000 EUR. The programme provides in-depth engineering knowledge and design training using a wide computer base, classes in specialized laboratories equipped with advanced measuring equipment, contacts with domestic and foreign companies, cooperation with other universities, and opportunities to develop interests through active involvement in a student research group. Students gain general knowledge in mathematical and natural sciences and technical sciences, together with the fundamentals of environmental engineering, circular economy and waste management, and water management and protection, including water and wastewater technology, water and sewage supply networks and installations, ventilation and air conditioning, heating, and the technology and organization of construction works. The curriculum also covers the emission and dispersion of pollutants and related environmental threats and risks, with specialized knowledge organized across three modules: Design, Technology, and Environmental Management. Graduates develop abilities to solve problems related to normal life for residents in both external and internal (building) environments, and to address the start-up and operation of technological facilities such as water or sewage treatment plants and waste recycling plants, as well as ventilation, air conditioning, and heating installations. The programme also covers the recovery and use of energy and materials, efficient use of raw materials, and circular economy principles as a basis for sustainable development and for limiting environmental pressure, alongside active participation in related engineering projects. This structure prepares graduates for careers in environmental design, utilities, and industrial environmental management across Poland and other EU countries.
