About Master in Environmental protection

This master's programme in Environmental Protection at Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW offers a specialization in Restoration and Management of Environment, taught in English over three semesters. The specialization aims to give students an understanding of the biological processes, legal aspects and management rules of environmental protection, along with a set of tools for future specialists able to secure good environmental quality and to address problems relating to the natural environment at different levels. The programme is divided into three semesters and combines lectures with seminar classes and laboratory work. In the first year, subjects include ecotoxicology, mathematics and statistics, environmental policy, plant adaptation to environmental stresses, ecological bases of nature conservation, integrated water resources management and restoration, hydrogenic soils, environmental aspects of landscape planning and design, soil biology, ecological infrastructure in agricultural landscapes, restoration of wild medicinal plant ecosystems, a first case study of environment restoration, land and water conservation, ecological engineering for environmental protection, and soil hazard pollution and protection. The second year covers environmental process modelling, hydrological modelling with GIS, faunal research and river ecological surveys, reforestation, ecotourism, risk analysis, project management, a second case study of environment restoration, and a diploma seminar.
