About the Program

The Fashion Design (BA) programme at the AMD Akademie Mode und Design at Hochschule Fresenius is a seven-semester bachelor's programme taught in English. It covers creative, manual, and technical aspects of fashion design, including trend research, pattern making, production techniques, textile technology, technical drawing, CAD (GRAFIS), fashion history and theory, transcultural fashion, artistic presentation formats, and fashion marketing. The programme is structured to give students both artistic and practical formation. The first four semesters cover foundational and progressively more advanced design work in modules spanning forms and lines, materials and realisation, design and presentation, production techniques, concept and design, and visualisation. The fifth semester is an internship of six months. The sixth semester continues with design identity and technology modules, and the seventh semester concludes with the Bachelor's thesis. Cooperation with fashion companies and cultural institutions is built into the curriculum. The programme is based at Hochschule Fresenius in Berlin, Germany.
