About the Program

Film and Motion Design (BA) is a seven-semester bachelor's programme at SRH University Berlin focused on the full process of film production, from script development through to post-production and screening. The curriculum covers scriptwriting, camera and editing skills, storytelling, directing, post-production, digital techniques, 2D and 3D visualisation, film theory, dramaturgy, lighting, and sound technology. Innovative narrative approaches and motion design formats — including interactive campaigns, short films, music clips, and commercials — are integral parts of the programme. The programme is organised semester by semester, with early semesters covering design foundations, film studies, motion design, and sound design, and later semesters moving through film production, integrated production projects, and advanced motion design. The fifth semester consists of an internship. The programme concludes in the seventh semester with a Bachelor's thesis and modules in entrepreneurship, media law, and application writing.
