Bachelor in Industrial Design

Ankara, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Industrial design combines creative and technical skills to develop products that are functional, manufacturable, and suited to how people actually use them. Coursework typically covers sketching and visualization, materials and manufacturing processes, ergonomics, computer-aided design, and design research methods, moving from hand drawing through 3D modeling and prototyping. Studio projects usually ask students to take a product from an initial concept through iteration to a presentable model, working alongside instructors and peers in a critique-based environment. Graduates commonly work as product or industrial designers, UX/UI designers, design researchers, or in roles spanning furniture, electronics, transportation, or consumer goods design, and some pursue further study in design or engineering fields. This 4 year bachelor's program in Industrial Design is offered at TED University in Ankara, Turkey, with instruction delivered in English. Studying in an English-medium program in Ankara gives students exposure to an international curriculum while based in Turkey's capital, a city with a large student population and a mix of academic, cultural, and government institutions. Over the course of four years, students build a portfolio of design work that can support internships and job applications, while also developing skills in teamwork, presentation, and iterative problem-solving that are broadly transferable across design-related careers.
