Bachelor in Industrial Design

Tuition comes to 25,000 USD per year.

Industrial Design deals with the conception and development of manufactured products, balancing aesthetics, function, ergonomics, and manufacturing constraints. Coursework typically includes design studio projects, sketching and visualization, model-making and prototyping, materials and manufacturing processes, and design history and theory, alongside computer-aided design tools used to develop and refine product concepts. Students learn to research user needs, generate and test product concepts, and translate ideas into forms that can be manufactured, working through iterative studio critique common to design education. Graduates typically pursue careers as product designers, design consultants, or in-house designers for manufacturing and consumer goods companies, as well as roles in design research and development. This bachelor's program at Özyeğin University in İstanbul, Turkey runs over 4 years and is taught in English, allowing students to engage with international design literature and practice. İstanbul's manufacturing base and growing design sector provide a practical backdrop for students studying product development. The program combines studio-based design education with technical and theoretical coursework, aiming to prepare graduates to move from concept to manufactured product across a range of industries.
