Polish Naval Academy

Master in International relations

Gdynia, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Master's programme in International Relations at the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, Poland, is delivered over four semesters and taught in English through the Institute of International Relations. The Institute runs both first-cycle and second-cycle studies that draw on research shared across the teaching staff and embedded in the Academy's maritime profile, a combination intended to help students understand the factors that shape the international security domain and the changes occurring within it. This focus responds to a world where governments, economies and service providers need civil servants who understand modern global dynamics and the forces shaping them. At the second-cycle level, the Institute also runs a practical profile, described as unique among Polish institutions, in which students build knowledge, skills and competence through practice, preparing them for design work and for formulating opinions and analyses on international issues, alongside developing soft skills valued by employers. Within this practical profile, a quality-of-education project has been implemented with funding from a Ministry of Science and Higher Education competition. In response to labour market needs, the Institute has also developed a course on the Military System of Public Service. As with international relations study generally, the field spans political science, law, economics and security studies, and graduates typically pursue careers in defence, diplomacy, public administration, or international organizations, particularly given the Gdynia location's maritime and security focus.
