The Diplom (master) programme in Kraftfahrzeugtechnik at the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau focuses on the planning, development, and construction of vehicles, including the design of modern car bodies and testing with advanced test stands and simulation tools. Students explore the interplay of individual vehicle components, such as drive, body, and electronics, as well as the properties and effects of different materials used in vehicles, studied in detail in the Materials Science module. The curriculum also emphasizes functional criteria like economic efficiency and safety in vehicle development.

The programme also offers specializations in areas such as maintenance and accident analysis, mechatronics in vehicles, combustion engines and drive technology, and body development and construction.
