Bachelor in Licence - Histoire

Tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

Institut national universitaire Champollion in Albi, France, offers the Licence - Histoire, a three-year bachelor's degree in history delivered in French. Students study the history of France and the wider world across multiple periods, from antiquity through the medieval and early modern eras to the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The programme examines political, social, cultural, economic, and religious transformations, training students to understand change over time and to make connections across different geographical contexts. A core component of the degree is the development of historical method: students learn to locate and evaluate primary sources, read secondary scholarship critically, construct historical arguments, and present findings in clear written and oral form. Seminars and essays develop independent research skills that are valued across many professions. The programme may also include modules touching on archaeology, the history of ideas, or heritage studies, depending on the institution's course offer. Graduates are well prepared for careers in education, archival and heritage work, journalism, public administration, cultural institutions, and the museum sector. Many continue into master's programmes in history, archival science, or related humanities disciplines. The degree starts in September, runs for 3 years, and carries annual tuition of 178 EUR. Instruction is in French.
