At Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, tuition is 178 EUR per year.

At the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne in Reims, France, the Licence - Histoire (History) is a three-year bachelor-level programme conducted in French, beginning in September, with annual tuition of 178 EUR. History as an academic discipline trains students to analyse and interpret the past through the critical examination of sources, the application of historiographical methods, and engagement with the debates that animate the field. Students cover ancient, medieval, early modern, and contemporary periods, developing both chronological breadth and thematic depth. Subject areas typically include political history, economic and social history, cultural and intellectual history, colonial and postcolonial history, and the history of international relations. A core skill developed throughout the programme is the ability to locate, evaluate, and synthesise primary and secondary sources — whether archival documents, chronicles, images, or material artefacts. Graduates emerge with strong competencies in research, critical thinking, structured written argument, and oral communication, which are valued across a wide range of professional contexts. Career paths include teaching at secondary level (following further qualification), work in archives, museums, and cultural heritage institutions, journalism, publishing, the civil service, and local government. The licence is the standard gateway to master's programmes in history, heritage studies, cultural mediation, or teacher training. Teaching is entirely in French.
