Bachelor in Licence - Psychologie

The tuition fee is 178 EUR per year.

Psychologie, or psychology, is the scientific study of the mind and behavior, and a licence in this field provides a broad introduction to its major subfields over three years. Students typically encounter cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, clinical psychology, and biological or neuropsychology, alongside statistics and research methodology, since psychology in the French university system is generally taught as an empirical, evidence-based science rather than a purely theoretical or clinical practice at the bachelor's level. Coursework often includes designing and analyzing experiments, reading and critiquing research studies, and building a foundational understanding of how psychological processes are studied scientifically. Students also gain exposure to the historical development of psychological theory and the ethical considerations involved in studying human behavior. Because clinical practice as a licensed psychologist in France requires a master's degree with a clinical specialization, the licence functions primarily as a foundational stage rather than a route directly into professional psychological practice. Graduates commonly continue into a master's program specializing in areas such as clinical psychology, work and organizational psychology, developmental psychology, or neuropsychology, while others move into related fields such as human resources, social work support roles, market research, or education, where an understanding of psychological principles is useful even without further clinical training. This licence is offered at the Universite de Poitiers, located in Poitiers, France. It runs over three years, has an inferred start date in September, is taught in French, and carries a yearly tuition of 178 EUR.
