Bachelor in Licence - Sciences de la vie

For Bachelor in Licence - Sciences de la vie, tuition is 178 EUR per year.

Life sciences — Sciences de la vie — is a broad discipline that addresses the biological principles underlying living organisms, from the molecular level through to ecosystems. A Licence Sciences de la vie typically covers cell biology, genetics and genomics, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, ecology, and evolutionary biology. Students gain both theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills, working with microscopy, culture techniques, molecular analysis tools, and field observation methods depending on the module. Supporting courses in mathematics, statistics, and chemistry are usually integrated throughout the degree to provide the quantitative and scientific tools needed for biological research. Students also develop scientific writing, data presentation, and experimental reasoning skills that are transferable to many professional contexts. The degree is structured to allow students to specialise progressively, with the final year typically offering options in areas such as ecology, biomedical sciences, or cellular and molecular biology. Graduates are prepared for careers in biomedical research, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, environmental consulting, agri-food sectors, health and biological services, and scientific communication. Many continue to a master's degree to specialise in genetics, ecology, biochemistry, or biomedicine. This Licence Sciences de la vie is offered at Université de Caen Normandie in Caen, France. The programme runs over 3 years from September. All instruction is in French. Yearly tuition is 178 EUR.
