Bachelor in Licence - Sociologie

Tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

Licence — Sociologie at Université de Pau et des pays de l'Adour is a three-year bachelor-level programme taught in French, with intake in September in Pau, France, and yearly tuition of 178 EUR. Sociology is the study of human societies, social structures, institutions, collective behaviour, and the forces that shape social life. Students examine theories of social stratification, inequality, family, work, religion, urban life, and migration, drawing on classical thinkers as well as contemporary debates. Methods courses introduce both quantitative techniques — surveys, statistical analysis — and qualitative approaches such as interviews, ethnography, and document analysis. The field overlaps with social psychology, political science, economics, and anthropology, allowing students to explore society from multiple angles. Pau is a university city with a lively student population, and the social sciences faculty there addresses issues relevant to both local contexts and broader national and global trends. Graduates of sociology programmes work in social services, public administration, research institutes, NGOs, human resources, journalism, and education. Many pursue master's degrees in applied sociology, social work, or public policy. Instruction is entirely in French.
