Bachelor in Mathematics For Data Science Bsc

Tuition comes to 17,400 GBP per year.

Harnessing the power of Big Data requires more than just technical proficiency; it demands mathematicians who can bridge the gap between complex algorithmic theory and real-world application. This programme distinguishes itself by focusing on the mathematical rigour behind machine learning and AI, ensuring graduates understand the inner workings of neural networks, vector calculus, and gradient optimization rather than simply acting as software consumers.

Students engage with a curriculum where a third of all credits are project-based, fostering a professional environment that mirrors industry demands. From your second year onwards, you will build your own neural nets and deep learning models, gaining the ability to explain every component of the algorithms you deploy. The course emphasises practical fluency in industry-standard tools like R and Python, preparing you to extract genuine value from heterogeneous data sets.

A career-focused mathematical education

Whether you choose the standard three-year path or the four-year version with a professional placement, the programme is designed to bridge academia and industry. You will be supported in securing placements with blue-chip companies, leveraging a curriculum that prioritizes communication, problem-solving, and the mathematical literacy required for sectors ranging from finance and healthcare to logistics and sport.
