Master in Mathematik (master)

Mathematik is a core component of the Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme at Europa-Universität Flensburg, preparing students for teaching at primary schools.

Through the module Elementarmathematik und ihre Didaktik I – Arithmetik, Elemente der Zahlentheorie und Stochastik in der Primarstufe, students acquire advanced mathematical knowledge relevant to primary education, including problem-solving strategies and modelling questions.

Students also gain the ability to analyse and adapt complex mathematical structures to primary school teaching, considering inclusive education. Furthermore, they develop different solution strategies for arithmetic and geometric problem-solving. The programme includes a practical semester and culminates in a master's thesis, ensuring a balanced mix of theory and practice.
