The MBA in Innovation Management at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is a four-semester distance learning programme designed for working professionals who want to lead innovation processes within their organisations. It runs in both winter and summer semesters and is structured to allow students to continue working alongside their studies. The first two semesters cover general management and business fundamentals, including financial methods, marketing, communication, and leadership. The third semester focuses on specialised innovation topics: process design, business model innovation, open innovation, frugal innovation, intellectual property management, leadership in innovation-friendly cultures, creativity methods, organisational design, and systematic innovation methods such as TRIZ and design thinking. Digital transformation and sustainability are integrated throughout as drivers of innovation. The fourth semester is devoted to the Master's thesis, accompanied by participation in an international seminar including the ISPIM Innovation Conference. Teaching combines self-study with learning materials, online platforms, and face-to-face sessions on three to four weekends per semester. Assessment includes written examinations, seminar papers, project presentations, the Master's thesis, and a colloquium.
