Technology and Innovation Management at Harz University of Applied Sciences addresses how digital technologies, the Internet of Things, and Industry 4.0 are reshaping manufacturing and service industries. The programme combines engineering, IT, and business competencies and trains students to plan and implement innovation processes that connect automation and digitalisation solutions to the underlying business context. The programme runs over four semesters under the regular track, or three semesters for students whose prior academic record qualifies them for the fast track. The first semester (regular track only) includes adjustment courses covering elective business subjects, an introduction to Industry 4.0, engineering project work, and German as a foreign language. The core curriculum, shared across both tracks, covers strategic innovation management, agile requirements engineering, digital transformation, digital business models, functional safety, big data and geoinformation, and a research and development project integrating research methods and academic writing, among other subjects. The final semester is dedicated to the master's thesis and colloquium. The degree also qualifies graduates for doctoral and academic career paths. The programme is based at Harz University of Applied Sciences in Wernigerode, Germany.
