Master in Mechanical engineering

Gdynia, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Polish Naval Academy's Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Gdynia, Poland offers a master's degree taught in English over three semesters. The programme is addressed to graduates with clearly defined technical interests, as well as to professionals already working on merchant ships, in shipping agencies, shipyards, and business organizations operating offshore and onshore energy installations, and to enterprises that rely on measurement and control equipment and embedded IT systems. The faculty's current research covers several areas: the construction and operation of marine machinery such as power plants, along with machinery diagnostics and the construction and operation of diving equipment and underwater work techniques, an area supported by the faculty's extensive experience with light alloy construction materials used in shipbuilding; shock resistance and the design of numerical equipment and construction materials; control and digital automation, together with data processing, imaging, and transfer within shipboard systems; support for ship command processes and the design of integrated systems for controlling marine power plants; and the identification and modelling of multidimensional objects using artificial neural networks. Graduates of the engineering and construction of machines course gain knowledge covering the technology, construction, and operation of marine machines, combining theoretical study with practical use of modern computer techniques supporting engineering work. Gdynia, situated on Poland's Baltic coast, is a center of the country's maritime industry, and the Polish Naval Academy trains engineers whose skills apply directly to shipping, naval operations, and offshore energy sectors in Poland and abroad.
