Poznan University of Technology's Faculty of Transport Engineering offers a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, taught in English over three semesters (one and a half years) in Poznań, Poland. The course is designed for mechanical engineers who want to broaden their education to cover the management of an industrial product across its whole life cycle, from design through to disposal, following a cradle-to-grave approach. The curriculum requires students to consider the environmental, economic, and social impacts of a product's existence at every stage, as part of building goods suited to a sustainable future economy. Because both goods and services available on the global market are subject to global competition, the programme places strong emphasis on the marketing side of product development, teaching students that a product's market position depends not only on the technical requirements set by potential customers but also on interdisciplinary, multi-aspect thinking, which is necessary for successful product management. The Faculty of Transport Engineering offers what it describes as a distinct study programme aimed at training engineers for the needs of a sustainable economy, drawing on long-standing teaching experience and a strong scientific base of qualified staff and research equipment. Ongoing cooperation with leading European educational and research and development institutions supports the conditions for high-quality technical education. Poznań, a major city in western Poland, hosts Poznan University of Technology, giving international students access to a well-established engineering education environment combined with links to European research partners in transport and mechanical engineering.
