Işık University

Bachelor in Mechatronics Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Mechatronics engineering combines mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to design systems that integrate sensors, actuators, and control software, such as robots and automated machinery. Coursework typically covers mechanics, electronics, control systems, embedded programming, robotics, and sensor technology, alongside core mathematics and physics. Students learn to design integrated systems where mechanical components are controlled by electronic and software elements, working across the boundaries that separate traditional engineering disciplines. Laboratory work often includes building and programming robotic or automated systems, testing sensors and actuators, and integrating hardware with control software. Graduates work in robotics, automation, manufacturing, and automotive industries, in roles spanning design, systems integration, and automation engineering. This bachelor program is delivered in English over 4 years at Işık University in İstanbul, Turkey. English-language instruction gives students access to international technical literature spanning the mechanical, electrical, and software domains that mechatronics draws on, and supports careers in globally active automation companies. Located in İstanbul, the university is close to a broad manufacturing and technology sector relevant to automation and robotics work. The four-year curriculum builds from foundational mechanics, electronics, and programming courses to integrated mechatronic systems design, culminating in a capstone project.
