Master in MEng Mechanical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering

A distinctive feature of this MEng pathway is its dedicated focus on orthopaedic biomechanics, linking mechanical principles directly to the design and testing of medical implants and devices.

The programme is structured over four years. The first two years provide a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and core biomedical concepts. In the third year students undertake an individual project that develops specialised research skills, while the fourth year culminates in a group design project that brings together engineering students from various specialisms, with optional industrial placements available.

Graduates are prepared for roles in medical device design and research.
