Master in MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

The Master's programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (MAID) at Deggendorf Institute of Technology trains students to work in and develop AI systems, with data science as an integral part of the curriculum. The programme addresses both the theoretical foundations and practical application of AI, and includes a compulsory internship that connects academic learning to real-world practice. The programme runs over 4 semesters and is available from both the winter and summer semesters. The first semester, held at Deggendorf Institute of Technology, covers artificial intelligence, software development, theoretical foundations, and advanced machine learning, alongside a German or Czech language course and elective modules. The second semester is completed at the partner institution, the University of South Bohemia, covering information theory, mathematics for AI and data science, computational intelligence, feature engineering, and parallel programming. The third semester is largely devoted to the compulsory internship and elective courses. The fourth semester concludes with a seminar, Master's thesis, and state examination. The cross-border structure of the programme and its integration with regional high-tech companies gives students exposure to an international environment. All instruction is in English.
