Cyber security examines how information systems are protected, the motives behind attacks, and the technical, human and legal responses required in a hyper-connected world. The part-time MSc explores ethical, societal and technological dimensions of the field, encouraging students to question how security measures intersect with everyday life.

The course runs over two years. In the first year students study core modules on introduction to cyber security, cybercrime and digital investigation, professional skills and a dissertation proposal, with optional modules like privacy and reputation or secure software. The second year adds a dissertation, network security and IoT, and further optional selections, while building on legislative knowledge.
