Master in MSc Mechanical Engineering with Professional Practice

Tuition is 22,672 GBP per year.

A 26-week professional practice placement sits at the heart of the MSc, allowing you to work either in a research centre or with industry partners and apply advanced mechanical engineering concepts in real-world settings.

The programme builds on core topics such as high-speed machining, design optimisation, Industry 4.0 and sustainable additive manufacturing, giving you the analytical and practical skills needed to tackle modern engineering challenges. Core modules are complemented by a dissertation and a dedicated professional development module that together develop both technical expertise and professional competencies.

Study takes place on the Springfield Campus, where you have access to open live project workspaces, formula-student resources and specialised laboratories for solid mechanics, fluid dynamics and advanced materials, all of which support hands-on learning and research integration.
