Master in Musical instruments

Tuition costs 4,500 EUR.

Musical Instruments at the Academy of Music in Cracow is a master's program taught in English over four semesters. The Academy of Music in Cracow is one of the oldest music higher education institutions in Poland and in Europe, founded as a Conservatory by the Music Society in Kraków, an organization established through the efforts of Duchess Marcelina Czartoryska and Władysław Żeleński in February 1888. For more than 120 years, the Academy's mission has been the education of musicians as humanists within a broad context of musical culture and art, guided by the motto per academiam ad astra. The Academy pursues this mission through teaching musical craftsmanship in a master-student relationship, the versatile development of gifts and talents, and teaching sensitivity to beauty in a setting where tradition meets the contemporary and the past meets the present. The Academy is also oriented toward opening students to various forms of cultural activity, including the formation and development of artistic taste and the ability to evaluate cultural phenomena. A master's-level program in instrumental music of this kind typically builds on undergraduate instrumental training with advanced performance study, chamber music, and preparation for public and competitive performance, preparing graduates for careers as professional musicians, soloists, chamber ensemble members, or instrumental teachers. The four-semester, English-medium format at one of Europe's older conservatories gives international students access to more than a century of institutional teaching tradition centered on craftsmanship and artistic development in Kraków.
