Master in Open Educational Resources

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam offers a programme in Open Educational Resources (OER) that focuses on the use and creation of educational materials under free licences. OER are particularly valuable for lecturers seeking legally secure and free resources for teaching. The programme highlights the availability of OER materials in various formats, including graphics, videos, text files, and entire online courses, which can be accessed through repositories. The University's involvement in OER projects, such as the 'Creative Commons Public License – Commentary and Handbook for Legal Practice' and the 'Reflection Card Set' by Prof. Dr. Antje Michel, showcases its commitment to open educational practices.

OER are made available on the internet via so-called OER repositories which is an extremely useful resource for instructors. The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam also provides a self-study course on 'Media Law in Teaching' as an OER material, available via its Moodle platform.

Prof. Dr. Ellen Euler, working at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam has released a milestone publication, the first legal commentary on the Creative Commons licenses in Germany, under open access. The work is a standard reference on the globally established licenses, also contributing to the open legal scholarship.
