Physics is the fundamental science that studies matter, energy, and the forces and laws governing the natural world, from subatomic particles to the behavior of large-scale systems. Students typically study classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and modern physics topics, alongside mathematical methods and laboratory work that develops experimental and analytical skills. Coursework often combines theoretical study with hands-on experiments, training students to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and interpret data using rigorous quantitative methods. The discipline builds strong problem-solving and analytical abilities that extend well beyond physics itself. This bachelor's program is offered at Gebze Technical University in Kocaeli, Turkey, with instruction delivered in English over a 4-year curriculum. Early coursework establishes foundations in mathematics and classical physics, while later years introduce more advanced and specialized topics along with independent laboratory or research work. Gebze Technical University's location in Kocaeli places students within a research-oriented technical university environment in one of Turkey's key industrial regions. Graduates of the program can pursue careers in research and development, data analysis, technology industries, education, and technical consulting, or continue to graduate study in physics, engineering, or other quantitative fields. The strong mathematical and analytical foundation developed through the program supports a wide range of career paths in both scientific and technical settings.
