The first course begins May 4, 2026, and the final course concludes in spring 2027. All courses must be completed to earn certification.

Core topics include Indigenous knowledge systems, land governance, GIS applications, policy frameworks, impact assessment, and climate change responses. Learning includes hands-on field activities, land-based experiences, and sessions led by knowledge keepers. A pre-course orientation called Zhii Taadaa is offered on May 1, 2026, to help prepare participants.

The programme is open to new students at any time. Applications are submitted through Algoma University's system. Financial support is available through the Land Stewardship Fund, which offers $250 bursaries to four eligible students. Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2026.
