Students engage with the mandatory module “Recognition of Prior Learning”, a 10-credit unit delivered entirely online. The course expects 10-12 hours of independent study each week, includes interactive discussions and requires a learning project and assessment strategy drawn from the participant’s own professional setting. No campus attendance is required, though assessments may occasionally be scheduled on-site.

The programme explores international and national best practice, legislative frameworks and quality assurance measures that shape RPL in further and higher education. Graduates leave with the ability to review and develop institutional RPL policies, assess informal learning applications and mentor candidates, positioning them for roles such as RPL coordinator, academic adviser or quality assurance specialist in colleges, universities, professional training providers and government agencies.
